Veramonte Primus Cabernet Merlot 2004
The wine is deep, dark opaque garnet in appearance, with aromas of blueberry with hints of tobacco and vanilla.
Background - A blend of Carmenere, The Lost Bordeaux Grape, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, Primus is a combination of power and finesse from Veramonte's Casablanca Valley Estate. Definitely a
"terroir" wine, Primus showcases the rare Carmenere variety, a grape once prevalent in Bordeaux in the 1800's when Chile first began importing vines from France. Distinct and exotic, Carmenere is making a strong comeback as a blending component for premium wines.

Cousino Macul Antiguas Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2005
90 Points - Jay Miller - The Wine Advocate
"The deeply colored 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Antiguas Reserva offers toast, spice box, cedar, and black currant scents. This is followed by a spicy, ripe, firm wine with layers of flavor. With very good depth and a long finish, this superb value should evolve for several more years but is hard to resist now. Kudos to Cousino-Macul for this significant upgrade to their portfolio."
