Dashwood Sauvignon Blanc 2005
Always one of the best value buys out of New Zealand this Marlborough producer keeps it streak alive with another delicious effort. This shows classic Marlborough pungency without any excessive herbal or grassy characteristics. The nose offers up lifted notes of lime, ripe gooseberry and then more tropical richness reminding of passion fruit. The mouth feel is quite engaging with a roundness that is almost creamy in texture with vibrant flavors mirroring the nose, lime and passion fruit, finishing with a wet stone tinged finish. This has good depth to the vibrant fruit as well as a juicy, lingering finish. Excellent value on this, it should drink well over the next 12-18 months
